TheraCalm® - Metabolic Balancing Formula

TheraCalm is a unique formulation aimed at controlling various veterinary concerns focused on proper metabolic function. Insulin resistance can often result in chronic issues like laminitis and Cushing’s disease. Horses that are naturally “easy keepers” and exhibit certain physical characteristics should be evaluated for possible insulin insensitivity. Obesity, fat pockets, cresty neck, poor hair quality, slow shedding and chronic infection are all symptoms of insulin insensitivity.

TheraCalm also serves a significant antioxidant function in exercising horses. As the name implies, antioxidants are substances that are capable of counteracting the damaging, but normal effects of the physiological process of oxidation in animal tissue. Antioxidants are nutrients (vitamins and minerals) as well as enzymes (proteins in your body that assist in chemical reactions). Oxidative stress occurs when the production of harmful molecules called free radicals is beyond the protective capability of the antioxidant defenses. Magnesium, selenium, and vitamins E & C are all potent antioxidants widely recognized as required nutrients for exercising horses.
